ISSUED AT 0356 UT ON 08 Jun 2026
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE

A coronal mass ejection that left the Sun on 6-Jun is expected to
arrive at Earth from 1300 UT on 8-Jun. This is expected to cause G2-G3
geomagnetic storming from mid 8-Jun onwards, or close to midnight in
Australian timezones. This may cause auroras to be visible in southern
parts of Australia on the night of 8-Jun into 9-Jun, such as in
Tasmania, Victoria, and southern parts of South Australia, Western
Australia and New South Wales.
