SUBJ: ASWFC AURORA OUTLOOK
ISSUED AT 0756 UT ON 01 Sep 2023
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE
A coronal mass ejection is expected to impact Earth during early/
pre-dawn hours of 03-Sep AEST, possibly causing geomagnetic activity
and visible auroras. A second coronal mass ejection is expected to
impact Earth during evening/ nighttime hours of 03-Sep AEST, possibly
causing further geomagnetic activity and visible auroras. Visibility
is likely to be restricted to Tasmania and southern Victoria when
skies are clear and dark. Alerts will follow if geomagnetic conditions
do become favourable for auroras.
