FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

The solar wind is currently under the influence of high speed solar
wind stream from a negative-polarity south-polar extension coronal
hole. While solar wind speeds remain elevated there is a small chance
of Aurora sightings from southernmost Australian regions (Tasmania/Sth
Vic) should favourable viewing conditions and prolonged southward Bz
(<-5nT) conditions eventuate. Aurora alerts will follow if significant
geomagnetic activity actually occurs.
