ISSUED AT 0716 UT ON 22 Aug 2018 by Space Weather Services
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
There is a slight chance of a glancing blow coronal mass ejection
(CME) from a disappearing solar filament on 19Aug that may impact the
Earth within the next 12-24 hours, possibly resulting in Active to
Minor Storm periods and visible auroras during local nighttime hours
for southernmost Australian regions (Tasmania and southern coast of
Victoria) should favourable viewing conditions exist. Aurora alerts
will follow if significant geomagnetic activity actually occurs.
