SUBJ: SWS AURORA WATCH
ISSUED AT 2333 UT ON 31 Dec 2016 by Space Weather Services
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

The previous aurora notice associated with an equatorial coronal hole
is extended by one day. This is due to delayed arrival of the coronal
hole effects. High speed streams of close to 600 km/s is expected over
the next 24 to 48 hours. Active periods with chance of minor storms
are expected for today 1 January. Auroras may be visible on the local
night of 1 January in Tasmania and possibly the coastline of
Victoria.
