SUBJ: IPS AURORA WATCH
ISSUED AT 0033 UT ON 27 Jun 2015 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is expected to impact the Earth around
18UT on 27 June (4am 28 June AEST), possibly resulting in significant
space weather activity and visible auroras during local nighttime
hours for mid-high latitude regions. Should the CME arrive a couple of
hours early, aurora sightings may be possible for southern Australian
regions (eg Tasmania). Aurora alerts will follow should favourable
space weather activity eventuate.
