SUBJ: IPS AURORA WATCH
ISSUED AT 0114 UT ON 28 Feb 2014 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

A Coronal Mass Ejection impacted the Earths geomagnetic field at
~17UT, early this morning (Australian local time) and caused
magnetic disturbances at Active to Minor Storm levels. Even though the
magnetic activity will have lessened by this evening
there should enough residue activity to cause weak to moderate aurora,
visible low on the horizon, possibly more red than green.

Ongoing proton flux from the original flare that caused the CME and
the onset of a high-speed solar wind stream
expected 1st March may cause weaker aurora to also be visible on the
evening 1st March.
