[ncrs-general] URSI GA 2008: Call for papers

URSI General Assembly 2008

The General Assembly of the International Union of Radio Science  will
be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago, USA on August
07-16, 2008. It will cover all areas of Radio Science, including radio
astronomy, and will consist of plenary lectures, public lectures,
tutorials, invited and contributed papers. In addition, there will be
workshops, short courses, special programs for young scientists and
graduate students, programs for accompanying persons, and industrial
exhibits. More than 1,500 scientists from more than fifty countries are
expected to participate. 

Of special interest will be the award of the 2008 Grote Reber Medal on
Sat. Aug 16 and this will be combined with a trip to Wheaton, Illinois
to visit the site of Reber's antenna.

A call for papers has now been issued, with a deadline of 31 January
2008. Further information is available on

There is a young scientists award and a student paper competition, with
the same deadline. Full details are on the web page.
