Many people who will be interested in this group are already members of the NCRS Mail list. If you are one of these people, this message is to invite you to join the new STSP Newsgroup. Please go to: http://listserver.ips.gov.au/mailman/listinfo/stsp and sign up. There are two stages to the procedure. * FIRST, enter your email address (mandatory) and your name (I know it says it is optional, but a name is VERY helpful for me as the list administrator). * You can also enter a password, or if you don't you will eventually be assigned one. * WARNING: either way, the password will be sent to you in CLEAR TEXT, so DON'T use an important password. * SECOND, you will then be sent an email message asking you to go to a webpage set up for you to complete your registration as part of the mail list. (This is to prevent you being signed up to lists by somebody else.) * When you complete this registration process you will be sent another email containing your password. All IPS operated mail lists can be reached from the IPS webpage, so if you lose your password, you can recover it through the web interface. While a few messages of common interest will be passed out through both mail lists, the STSP Mail List is intended primarily for STSP matters. You should remain a member of both groups if you want to remain aware of the wider radio science activities. WARS2006 -------- Planning has commenced for WARS2006. At this stage, a meeting is being planned for late January or February, 2006. More information will be distributed soon. best wishes, Phil -- Dr Phil Wilkinson, Chair NCRS Deputy Director IPS Radio and Space Services _______________________________________________________ Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources IPS Radio and Space Services (ABN 51 835 430 479) Street Address: Level 6, 477 Pitt St., NSW 2000, AUSTRALIA Postal Address: P O Box 1386, Haymarket, NSW 1240, AUSTRALIA. The deadline for advising authors about refereeing of their papers was 25 November 2006. Several papers arrived late and will not meet this deadline, but currently all papers are with referees and the refereeing cycle will be completed in plenty of time for WARS2006. The next deadline I would like to remind everybody about is 9th December, the last day for early-bird registration, a little over a week away. Don't leave your registration to the last day. In particular, do not wait until your paper has been accepted before registering. Instead, if this is a problem for you, register and note on your registration form "subject to paper acceptance" and your form will not be processed until your paper has been accepted. Those people intending to offer information papers still have until 24th January 2006, but as with registration, please don't leave your paper submission until the last day. best wishes, Phil -- Dr Phil Wilkinson, Deputy Director IPS Radio and Space Services _______________________________________________________ Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources IPS Radio and Space Services (ABN 51 835 430 479) Street Address: Level 6, 477 Pitt St., NSW 2000, AUSTRALIA Postal Address: P O Box 1386, Haymarket, NSW 1240, AUSTRALIA.
