Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

Quiet to unsettled conditions.

2. FORECAST (20 DECEMBER - 19 JANUARY)
Disturbed Periods:
No strong recurrent patterns:
Expect mostly Quiet conditions

Best Quiet Periods:
 21-28 Dec, 30 Dec to 5 Jan, 7-15 Jan.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 20-28 Dec, 30 Dec to 4 Jan, 7-15 Jan.

Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 20-28 Dec, 30 Dec to 4 Jan, 7-15 Jan.

Southern Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 20-28 Dec, 30 Dec to 4 Jan, 7-15 Jan.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.

PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
