cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.
Quiet to active conditions.
2. FORECAST (26 FEBRUARY - 28 MARCH)
Disturbed Periods:
26 Feb, 1 Mar.
Best Quiet Periods:
27-28 Feb, 3 Mar, 5 Mar, 8-15 Mar.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions: Quiet
Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 26 Feb, 1 Mar.
Best Quiet Periods: 27-28 Feb, 3 Mar, 5 Mar, 8-15 Mar.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 26 Feb, 1 Mar.
Best Quiet Periods: 27-28 Feb, 3 Mar, 5 Mar, 8-15 Mar.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
