cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.
Quiet to unsettled conditions.
2. FORECAST (09 APRIL - 09 MAY)
Disturbed Periods:
9-10 Apr, 19 Apr, 24-25 Apr.
Best Quiet Periods:
22-23 Apr, 27-29 Apr 3-5 May.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Best Quiet Periods: 22-29 Apr, 03-07 May
Central Australian Regions:
Best Quiet Periods: 22-29 Apr, 3-07 May
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 9-10 Apr, 16-17 Apr, 19-21 Apr, 24-25 Apr, 1-2 May
Best Quiet Periods: 23-23 Apr, 27-29 Apr, 3-5 May
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
