SUBJ: IPS WEEKLY GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED ON 07 NOVEMBER 2013, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

1. SUMMARY (29 OCTOBER - 06 NOVEMBER)
K indices are in UT (0-24). For conversion to local time:

AEST = UT + 10 hours; ACST = UT + 9.5 hours; AWST = UT + 8 hours
        Australian Region*
 Date K-INDICES A

 06 Nov 1111 0112 3

In the IPS magnetometer data for 03 Nov, a weak (10nT) impulse
was observed at 0521UT.

*estimated from real time data

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

Quiet to Unsettled conditions observed over the last week.
Mainly Quiet to occasional Unsettled periods expected for the
first half of the forecast week. Chance of an increase in geomagnetic
activity via CME's in the latter half of the week as current active
sunspot groups rotate into geoeffective position.

2. FORECAST (07 NOVEMBER - 07 DECEMBER)
Disturbed Periods: No strong recurrent patterns, however mild
activity may be experienced on: 10-13 Nov, 3 Dec.

Best Quiet Periods: 7-9 Nov, 14 Nov to 2 Dec.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions: Quiet

Central Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 7 Nov to 3 Dec.

Southern Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 7-10 Nov, 12 Nov to 3 Dec.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.

PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
