Quiet to unsettled conditions.
2. FORECAST (08 SEPTEMBER - 08 OCTOBER)
active on 9-10 Sep.
Best Quiet Periods:
14-18 Sep, 20-24 Sep, 26-29 Sep, 2-4 Oct.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 8-9 Sep, 14 Sep to 4 Oct.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 11-13 Sep
Best Quiet Periods: 8-9 Sep, 15 Sep to 4 Oct.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
