*estimated from real time data

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.

Isolated minor storm periods late 29 April, isolated active periods
30 April- 2 May and quiet to unsettled at other times.

2. FORECAST (05 MAY - 04 JUNE)
Disturbed Periods:
9-10 May, 17 May and 27-30 May.

Best Quiet Periods:
 5-7 May, 11-16 May, 18-25 May and 31 May-3 June.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS

Northern Australian Regions:
Best Quiet Periods: 5 May-4 June.

Central Australian Regions:
Mildly disturbed Periods: 9-10 May and 27-31 May.
Best Quiet Periods: 5-8, 11-26 May and 1-4 June.

Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 9-10 May and 27-31 May.
Best Quiet Periods: 5-8, 11-26 May and 1-4 June.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.

PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
