FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.
Quiet to unsettled conditions with isolated active periods
19 and 20 July.
2. FORECAST (28 JULY - 27 AUGUST)
Disturbed Periods: active conditions possible on 30 to 31 Jul,
7 Aug, 15 to 16 Aug and 27 Aug.
Best Quiet Periods: 28 to 29 Jul, 2 to 6 Aug, 8 to 13 Aug,
18 to 26 Aug.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 28 Jul to 7 Aug, 9 to 16 Aug, 18 to 27 Aug.
Central Australian Regions:
Mildly disturbed Periods: 8 Aug and 16 to 17 Aug.
Best Quiet Periods: 28 Jul to 7 Aug, 9 to 15 Aug, 18 to 27 Aug.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 8 Aug and 16 to 17 Aug.
Best Quiet Periods: 28 Jul to 6 Aug, 9 to 14 Aug, 20 to 27 Aug.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
