ISSUED ON 03 JUNE 2010, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

K indices are in UT (0-24). For conversion to local time:
AEST = UT + 10 hours; ACST = UT + 9.5 hours; AWST = UT + 8 hours
        Australian Region*

Weak impulses were observed in the IPS magnetometer data at
0258UT on 28 May (15nT) and 0759UT on 29 May (31nT).

*estimated from real time data
NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.

Quiet to unsettled conditions. Isolated active levels between 28
May and 1 June and a minor storm period on 29 May.

2. FORECAST (03 JUNE - 03 JULY)
Disturbed Periods:
active on 26 to 27 June.
minor storm on 25 June.

Best Quiet Periods:
6 June, 8 to 14 June, 17 to 23 June, 30 June to 3 July.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS

Northern Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 3 June to 3 July.

Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 27 to 28 June (mildly disturbed).
Best Quiet Periods: 5 to 26 June, 29 June to 3 July.

Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 27 to 28 June.
Best Quiet Periods: 5 to 26 June, 29 June to 3 July.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.

PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
