*estimated from real time data
NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.
The period started with the geomagnetic activity at quiet to unsettled
levels. Some active periods were observed on 20 March due to a strong
solar wind stream. The activity again increased to active levels with
some periods of minor storm and isolated perods of major storm levels
on high latitudes on 26 March due to a coronal hole effect.
Active on 26 March.
Mostly quiet to unsettled for most of the time on other days.
2. FORECAST (27 MARCH - 26 APRIL)
Disturbed Periods:
Active on 27 and 28 March, and 05, 06, 22, 23 and 24 April.
Best Quiet Periods:
30 to 31 March, 02 to 03 April, 12 to 13 April, 15 April, 17 to 18 April,
and 20 to 21 April.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions: NA
Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 22 April.
Best Quiet Periods: 29 March to 02 April, 12 to 14 April, 19 to 20 April.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 21 to 22 April.
Best Quiet Periods: 29 March to 03 April, 14 April, 16 to 19 April.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
