SUBJ: IPS WEEKLY GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED ON 04 OCTOBER 2007, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

26 Sep 2121 1111 4
27 Sep 1112 2533 12 A weak (15nT) impulse was observed in the IPS
magnetometer data at 1153UT on 27 Sep, and a weak (23nT) impulse was
observed at 1626UT on 27 Sep.

*estimated from real time data
NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.
Active on 29 Sep and short period of active levels on 03 Oct.
quiet to unsettled on other days.
2. FORECAST (04 OCTOBER - 03 NOVEMBER)
Disturbed Periods:
active on 24-26 Oct.
Best Quiet Periods:
5 Oct to 16 Oct, 22 Oct to 23 Oct.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions: NA
Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 6 Oct to 17 Oct, 21 Oct to 23 Oct, 27 Oct to 30 Oct.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 4 Oct to 17 Oct, 22 Oct to 23 Oct, 28 Oct to 30 Oct.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
