SUBJ: IPS WEEKLY GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED ON 08 SEPTEMBER 2005, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
1. SUMMARY (30 AUGUST - 07 SEPTEMBER)
K indices are in UT (0-24). For conversion to local time:

31 Aug 2232 4665 33 A weak (21nT) impulse was observed in
the IPS magnetometer data at 1537UT on 31 Aug.

the IPS magnetometer data at 1419UT on 02 Sep.

07 Sep 2213 1011 5 A weak (16nT) impulse was observed in
the IPS magnetometer data at 1123UT on 07 Sep.
The period started with geomagnetic activity at quiet levels on
30 August. Major storm was observed on 31 August due to the effect
of a coronal hole. A CME activity resulted in the geomagnetic
activity rising to minor storm levels on 02 September. Active
periods were observed on 03 and 04 September. Quiet to unsettled
levels of geomagnetic activity were observed during the rest of
this period.
2. FORECAST (08 SEPTEMBER - 08 OCTOBER)
Disturbed Periods:
Upto active levels from 12 to 14 September, 21 September,
27 September, 29 to 30 September and 02 October. Some possibility
of active to minor storm on 20 September.
Best Quiet Periods:
15 to 19 September, 22 to 26 September, 03 October.
