SUBJ: IPS WEEKLY GEOPHYSICAL REPORT 
ISSUED ON 21 JULY 2005, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

1. SUMMARY (12 JULY - 20 JULY)
K indices are in UT (0-24). For conversion to local time:

 in the IPS magnetometer data at 0137UT on 17 Jul.

 in the IPS magnetometer data at 1052UT on 20 Jul.

The period started with geomagnetic activity at quiet to 
minor storm level on 12 July due to the effect of a coronal 
hole and a weak CME. The activity remained mostly at quiet 
levels on 14 and 15 July and then rose to unsettled levels 
on 16 July and upto active levels on 17 July. Minor storm 
periods were observed on 18 July due to the effect of a weak 
CME and Bz staying southwards for prolonged periods. The 
activity again rose to active levels on 20 July due to the 
effect of a recurrent coronal hole. 

2. FORECAST (21 JULY - 20 AUGUST)
Disturbed Periods: 
21, 22, 28, 29 July, 05 to 09 August, 16 August, 18 August.

Best Quiet Periods: 
24 to 27 July, 31 July to 04 August, 10 to 11 August, 17 August,
19 to 20 August.
