SUBJ: IPS WEEKLY GEOPHYSICAL REPORT 
ISSUED ON 18 JULY 2002, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

1. SUMMARY (09 JULY - 17 JULY)
K indices are in UT (0-24). For conversion to local time:

Slightly elevated activity on 12 July resulted from a coronal hole, and on
17 July from glancing blow from CME associated with X3-flare on 15 July.

2. FORECAST (18 JULY - 17 AUGUST)
Disturbed Periods: There is a reasonable chance of continued CME and 
associated intermittent geomagnetic activity over the next couple of
weeks due to several active regions currently on the visible sun and
rotating into view.

Best Quiet Periods: 4-11 August.
