The first half of the week was quiet. During the second half
of the week a shock observed in the solar wind at 1006UT on 23 Jan.
Active periods followed impulse. Shock originated from flare/CME
activity on 20 Jan. The region that produced this activity is
located just past the centre of the solar disk at the time of writing of
this report. The region appears to be slightly declining, but
still has M flare potential.

are frequently determined by short timescale events, not
able to be forecasted a week in advance.
