A moderate shock was observed in the solar wind at 0754UT on 24-Nov.
The solar wind speed increased to approximately 550km/sec post shock
arrival. The solar wind speed is currently at 598km/sec. The shock was
probably the edge of a CME from a solar filament eruption on 22-Nov,
with a more significant Earth directed component than modelled.
Overnight, the planetary geomagnetic activity has reached G2 and the
Australian regional geomagnetic activity has reached G1. The
Australian regional ionosphere has become depressed by up to 30% after
local dawn this morning.
