The earth is currently under the influence of a full-halo CME
triggered by a M1.6 flare from October 09/0638 UT. The global Kp index
is expected to reach 5 (G1 storm), with a chance of 6 (G2 storms).
Click on the Australian Space Weather Alert System link above to
determine the possible impacts of G1 and G2 type storms on technology.
Auroras possible if the storm continues through the local night. It
may be visible from Tasmania and the coastline of Victoria. Aurora
alerts will follow if significant geomagnetic activity occurs.
