[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 12 May - issued 2353UT/11-May-2021

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Wed May 12 09:53:37 EST 2021

Solar activity is expected to be low on UT day 12 May. The solar wind
speed is expected initially to be near background levels. However
towards the end of the day, coronal hole effects plus the possible
arrival of the 9 May DSF CME are expected to elevate the solar wind
speed from slightly to moderately enhanced levels. Geomagnetic
activity is expected to be mostly quiet to active with possible minor
storms and a small chance of a major storm, if the impact of the CME
is stronger than anticipated. Mostly normal HF propagation conditions
are expected on UT day 12 May.
