[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 09 December - issued 2336UT/08-Dec-2018 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sun Dec 9 10:36:39 EST 2018

For the UT day 9 December, solar activity is expected to stay very
low. The Earth is currently under the influence of moderately elevated
solar wind speeds associated with a large recurrent coronal hole.
Geomagnetic activity is expected to be mostly at quiet to unsettled
levels; isolated active periods are possible in the polar regions. MUF
depressions of 15 to 25% compared to the monthly predicted levels are
expected due to low levels of ionising radiation from the Sun and
geomagnetic disturbance associated with the passage of the coronal
hole.
