Solar activity remained at High levels during the last 24 hours with
multiple M-class flares all from active region 2673(S08W28). This
region is a Beta-Gamma-Delta magnetic class and maintains high flare
potential, with Moderate to High solar activity expected over the next
three days. Expect a light solar wind with a sudden increase in the
speed tomorrow early morning to near noon, 7 September (AEST), due to
the arrival of an expected Earthward bound coronal mass ejection
(CME), which was observed on 4 September. Geomagnetic conditions are
expected to increase to Active to Major Storm levels. High-frequency
radio communications mostly normal today. Short wave fadeouts are
likely. Best chance for aurora sightings from southern Australian
regions on the night of the 7th of September (AEST). Also a small
chance of aurora sighting in the pre-dawn hours tomorrow, 7 September,
if the CME arrives much earlier than the model prediction indicates.
