Very Low levels of solar flare activity are expected today, 14
October. The Earth is currently under the influence of Very Strong
solar wind streams from a coronal hole. The geomagnetic conditions at
Earth today are expected to be at Active to Minor levels. Major Storm
conditions may occur provided IMF Bz maintained strongly southward for
prolonged periods. MUFs are expected to be moderately depressed.
Chance of aurora sightings from southernmost Australian regions should
Bz maintain strongly southward for a prolonged period as well as
favourable viewing conditions.
