Thu Jun 15 09:40:00 EST 2017

Very low solar flare activity is expected for today, 15 June. The
Earth is currently under the influence of the moderate solar wind
speed. In the second half of the UT day the solar wind speed is
expected to start increasing due to a coronal hole effect. The
geomagnetic conditions at Earth today are expected to be mostly at
quiet to unsettled levels and can reach active levels in the second
half of the UT day. High-frequency radio communication users are
advised to use near monthly predicted frequencies. A B-class flare,
which occurred at 11/0144 UT from Region 2661, seemed to have
triggered a CME first seen in the LASCO difference imagery data
starting at ~11/0240 UT. A model run shows a possibility for a
glancing blow on 15 June.
