rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sat Jul 15 12:27:06 EST 2017

Low to Moderate solar flare activity. Solar winds are currently light
but may become enhanced due to the possible influence of a coronal
hole today 15 July which may cause geomagnetic activity to reach
Unsettled levels with possible Active periods. An additional solar
wind enhancement is expected late day two, 16 July due expected
arrival of a CME associated with an M2 flare on 14 July. On 16 -17
July geomagnetic activity is expected to increase to Active to Minor
storm levels and may reach Major Storm levels due to the CME effects.
Possible depressed MUF's overnight due to expected increase in
geomagnetic activity. Short wave fadeout may be observed over the next
few days. The CME is anticipated to impact the Earth late in the UT
day of 16 July (Monday morning AEST). Aurora sightings possible for
Southernmost Australian regions should the CME arrive earlier than
anticipated.
