rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Wed Jan 18 10:55:08 EST 2017

Very low to low solar flare activity is expected on 18-Jan. The solar
wind is light and geomagnetic conditions are currently at quiet
levels. High speed winds from a mid-latitude coronal hole are expected
to arrive later today, 18-Jan, which could produce active geomagnetic
conditions with minor storm periods. High-frequency radio
communications at low to mid latitudes may experience moderate
depressions in maximum useable frequencies and periods with poor
propagation conditions. Auroras may be visible on the local nights of
18 and 19 January in Tasmania and possibly the coastline of Victoria.
