Mon Jan 2 10:41:25 EST 2017

Very low solar flare activity is expected for today 2 January. The
Earth is currently under the influence of moderately elevated solar
wind streams from a positive polarity coronal hole. However, the
coronal hole effects are expected to wane from today. The geomagnetic
conditions at earth are expected to be between mostly quiet to
unsettled levels today. High-frequency radio communications users are
advised to use lower than monthly predicted frequencies today, as the
ionosphere gradually recovers from 1 January active geomagnetic
conditions caused by the coronal hole.
