Mon Apr 24 09:57:09 EST 2017

Very low solar flare activity is expected for 24 April. The Earth is
currently under the influence of the very high speed solar wind stream
associated with the recurrent coronal hole. As a result, the
geomagnetic conditions at Earth can reach minor storm levels today
with a chance for isolated major storm periods. Auroras may be visible
tonight (24 April) in Tasmania and possibly from the coastline of
Victoria. High-frequency radio communication users are advised to use
monthly predicted frequencies today. However, mildly depressed MUFs
are likely during local day, especially in the Southern Australian
region.
