[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 02 October - issued 2341UT/01-Oct-2016 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Sun Oct 2 10:41:36 EST 2016

The large coronal hole that caused a series of substorms over the last
three days continues to move past its geoeffective location. Thus
further weakening in the solar wind speeds and return to mostly active
geomagnetic conditions are expected today. A 39 degree long erupting
filament and associated coronal mass ejection was observed to occur at
around 01/0200 UT in the available radar imagery. Update on the impact
of this CME at Earth, if any, will be provided upon completion of the
model runs. The HF conditions will still be strongly depressed in the
mid- and high latitudes, today.
