[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 09 November - issued 0605UT/09-Nov-2016 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Wed Nov 9 17:05:40 EST 2016

A notable step increase in Bt, density and velocity observed in DSCOVR
real time solar wind parameters indicate the delayed arrival of the
CME associated with the 05Nov disappearing solar filament. Light to
Moderate solar wind speeds are expected. Geomagnetic conditions
currently at Quiet levels with possible Active to Minor Storm periods
should sustained southward Bz values eventuate. Aurora sightings
possible from southernmost Australian regions should favourable
viewing conditions exist. HF radio communications MUFs depressed ~20%
at mid to high latitudes and variable ionospheric support at low
latitudes. Very Low to Low solar flare activity expected.
