[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 04 June - issued 2343UT/03-Jun-2016 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sat Jun 4 09:43:27 EST 2016

Very low solar activity is expected for 4-Jun, with a small chance of
C-class flares. The solar wind speed is expected to remain light until
the effects of an equatorial coronal hole increase the wind speed late
on 4-Jun. This is likely to result in geomagnetic activity reaching
active to minor storm levels. HF communications are mostly normal,
with some moderately depressed maximum useable frequencies. HF
propagation conditions and frequencies are likely to be adversely
affected 5-6 Jun as a result of the expected increase in geomagnetic
activity. Aurora sightings from Tasmania are possible, weather
permitting, on 4-5 Jun.
