[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 12 December - issued 2336UT/11-Dec-2016 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Mon Dec 12 10:36:39 EST 2016

Very low solar flare activity is expected for today, 12 December. The
Earth is currently under the influence of moderate to strong solar
wind streams from a large recurrent southern hemisphere coronal hole.
However, speeds of solar wind are expected to decline from today as
the coronal hole effects wane. Mostly unsettled to quiet geomagnetic
conditions are expected for today. High-frequency radio communications
users are advised to continue to use lower than the monthly predicted
frequencies due to loss in ionisation associated with the preceding
active geomagnetic conditions.
