Fri Aug 5 09:53:49 EST 2016

The ~15 degree long erupting solar filament observed yesterday at
03/1600 UT from around solar centre (N25E20) had triggered a Coronal
Mass Ejection (CME). Our model runs indicate that this CME may cause a
weak glancing blow at earth on 7 August. The solar winds are currently
at very high levels of near 600 km/s associated with high speed
streams emanating from a large positive polarity coronal hole.
Disturbed solar wind conditions and associated moderately active
geomagnetic conditions are expected to continue today, 5 August.
High-frequency radio communication conditions are expected to be
slightly depressed today, 5 August, over the Australasia region.
