[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 03 April - issued 2332UT/02-Apr-2016 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Solar flare activity was very low during 02 Apr UT and it is expected
to remain very low during the next 3 days. Hydrogen alpha solar
telescopes show solar prominences arching in profile off the NE and SW
limbs. The frontal disturbance ahead of fast wind emanating from
Coronal Hole 725 arrived at Earth during 2 Apr. The solar wind speed
increased from about 330 km/s to above 500 km/s throughout the day. A
minor geomagnetic storm (G1, Kp=5) occurred early this morning (AEST)
and it is still in progress. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be
active with minor storm intervals during 3 Apr. HF radio communicators
will likely encounter storm driven enhancements and depressions
throughout the Australian region today, 3 Apr.
