Sat Nov 7 10:56:39 EST 2015

The solar activity was at very low levels during the past 24 hrs, with
4 C-class flares and no stronger M-class flares. The partial halo CME
associated with 04 Nov M3.7 flare has arrived at Earth as anticipated.
An interplanetary shock associated with the CME hit the ACE spacecraft
at 06/1735 UTC and arrived at Earth at 06/1825 UTC. Minor geomagnetic
storms are likely in the next 24 hrs, although the chance of major
storms cannot be excluded. Another episode of strong solar winds
associated with a very wide recurrent positive northern coronal hole
is expected to affect earth late on UT day Nov 8. Aurora sightings are
possible on the evenings of 7-9 Nov from Southern Australian regions,
such as Tasmania and Victoria. More updates on the developing
geomagnetic storm and chance of aurora sighting will be provided as
the day goes on.
