[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 01 February - issued 2321UT/31-Jan-2015

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sun Feb 1 10:21:53 EST 2015

Solar flare activity has dropped to low levels, with a low xray
background dropping in B levels. Further M class flare activity is
possible over the next few days but unlikely. Geomagnetic activity is
mostly Quiet but Unsettled conditions can be expected over the next
few days as a new high speed solar wind stream arrives. Maximum
useable frequencies for HF communications continue to fall gradually
due to reducing levels of ionising EUV flux, however frequencies
should remain mostly at or above predicted monthly values.
