The solar UV flux is elevated and there are 8 named solar Active
Regions (AR) on the visible disk. Three of these ARs have a 50% chance
of releasing an M class X-ray flare during the next 48 hours. There is
a small probability of an isolated X class flare. Solar activity was
low during Sep 29, but moderate activity is expected during the next 3
days. GONG H alpha images show two 20-degree long solar prominences
located in the western hemisphere of the visible disk. They are stable
at the time of this report. There are also no Earthward directed
Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs). The solar wind speed has declined to
about 350 km/s and the 3-day outlook is for quiet to unsettled
geomagnetic conditions. HF radio propagation conditions are expected
to remain enhanced in all regions. However, short-wave radio fadeouts
are possible.
