[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 13 May - issued 2339UT/12-May-2014

Solar activity was low with weak C-class solar flares during the
previous 24 hours. There is a possibility of an M class flare during
the next 3 days. Geomagnetic activity was also low and it is expected
to remain low today. However, an equatorial coronal hole is traversing
the central meridian and the effects of a Coronal Hole High Speed
Stream (CHHSS) may drive unsettled geomagnetic conditions during the
next 48 hours. An impressive group of solar Active Regions (AR 2055,
2056, 2057, 2059) is presently rotating through the geo-effective
location on the solar disk. Solar rotation charts of reoccurring
geomagnetic activity suggest unsettled to active geomagnetic
conditions before the end of this calendar week. Ionospheric plasma
densities were enhanced at dawn this morning. This often indicates
that support for HF radio communication will be enhanced for the
remainder of the day.
