[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 13 June - issued 2326UT/12-Jun-2014

Fri Jun 13 09:26:23 EST 2014

Several M-class X-ray flares were produced by three different solar
spot groups on 12-Jun, keeping solar activity high. The solar wind
speed has declined to light levels with the waning of coronal hole
effects. There is a chance that Earth will receive a glancing blow on
13-Jun from CMEs produced on 10-Jun, possibly resulting in active
geomagnetic conditions at high latitudes. Until then, geomagnetic
activity is expected to be quiet and HF communications conditions
normal, though with short-wave fadeouts likely due to continuing
moderate to high solar activity.
