[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 20 July - issued 2352UT/19-Jul-2013

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sat Jul 20 09:52:55 EST 2013

Solar activity is Low, with only a slight chance of significant
flares. A high speed solar wind stream continues to elevate solar wind
speed to near 600km/s, however it is now in decline. Geomagnetic
activity is at Quiet to Unsettled levels. There remains a chance that
a CME observed on 16-Jul will impact sometime today, despite being
more than 24 hours past the modelled arrival time, which could
increase geomagnetic activity to Active and produce isolated Minor
Storm periods at high latitudes. Some degraded HF conditions are
possible today, particularly at high latitudes.
