[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 13 July - issued 2328UT/12-Jul-2013

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sat Jul 13 09:28:24 EST 2013

Solar activity is at low levels. Solar wind parameters are elevated
following the arrival of a weak shock in the solar wind late on
12-Jul. The magnetic field in the solar wind remains mostly northwards
directed. Increased geomagnetic activity is expected if this field
turns southwards over the day. A sustained period of southwards
directed field occurring late in the day could produce visible aurora
at Tasmanian latitudes overnight 13-Jul (local time).
