SUBJ: SWS GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 16/59
ISSUED AT 2331UT/31 DECEMBER 2016
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.

The previous geomagnetic warning associated with the equatorial 
coronal hole is extended by one day. This is due to delayed arrival 
of the coronal hole effects. High speed streams of close to 600 
km/s is expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. Active periods 
with chance of minor storms are expected for today 1 January. 
Auroras may be visible on the local night of 1 January in Tasmania 
and possibly the coastline of Victoria.
