SUBJ: IPS GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 03/24
ISSUED AT 18/0210Z JUNE 2003
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.

AN X1.3 FLARE WITH ASSOCIATED HALO CORONAL MASS EJECTION (CME)
WAS OBSERVED AT 2356UT ON 15 JUNE. MASS EJECTION WAS
PREDMINATELY EASTWARD. A GLANCING BLOW IS EXPECTED TO BE
EXPERIENCED AT THE EARTH LATE 18/EARLY 19 JUNE.

A LARGE ISOLATED EQUATORIAL WAS AT SOLAR CENTRAL
MERIDIAN ON 16-17 JUNE.

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED DUE TO
AN ANTICIPATED CORONAL MASS EJECTION ARRIVAL LATE 18/EARLY 19 JUNE, 
AND ALSO DUE TO CORONAL HOLE HIGH SPEED WIND STREAM FROM 19-21 JUNE 2003

19 Jun:  Unsettled to active with the chance of minor storm periods (coronal hole).
20 Jun:  Unsettled to active with the chance of minor storm periods (coronal hole).
21 Jun:  Unsettled to active with the chance of minor storm periods (coronal hole).
