SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 31/2330Z JULY 2001 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

Activity Low Low Low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 120/72 120/72 125/78

COMMENT: It appears that the earth entered a coronal hole high
speed wind stream around 04UT on 31 July. Solar wind speed gradually
increased and is currently at around 600km/sec. The north-south
component of the interplanetary magnetic field has remained mostly
northward, reducing coronal hole geoeffectiveness.

02 Aug 12 Unsettled
03 Aug 7 Quiet to unsettled
COMMENT: Isolated active periods possible 01 Aug due to elevated
solar wind speed from coronal hole.

3A. GLOBAL HF PROPAGATION SUMMARY
	            Latitude Band
Date Low Middle High

03 Aug Normal Normal Normal
COMMENT: Mild degraded in HF conditions observed during local
night hours at high latitudes. Further mild degradation expected
for 01 Aug due to coronal hole effects.
